We arrived at the hospital around 10:30 p.m. when I was scheduled to be induced.  After monitoring the baby and checking me they started I.V. pitocin at 11:40 p.m.  I had my first contraction at midnight.  The midwife was supposed to come in between 1:00 and 2:00 to see how I was doing.  I told the nurse to check me again at about 12:40 a.m.  She immediately began preparing the room for delivery.  She stayed by my side and ended up being the one to deliver me at 1:10 a.m.  I never even met the midwife.  An OB came in after the baby arrived and stitched me up.  The nurse said it was the fastest induction she had ever seen.  I was thrilled to have it over so quickly.

Lake Almanor

Here's some pictures from our summer vacation to Lake Almanor. We camp there each summer with a bunch of people from Aaron's extended family. Since we always talk about how fun it is, my parents also stopped by and spent a week there with us this year.

Maddie's Dance Performance

Maddie joined her first dance class at the end of April and they were doing their performance in about 4 or 5 weeks. I was hesitant to have her join the performance because she had so little time to prepare but her dance teacher believes in having a good time, not trying to be perfect and Maddie really wanted to do the show. I had no idea what she would do when she actually hit the stage since she is normally a very shy child. I thought she might just stand there but to my great surprise she did everything and had a blast! Words cannot say how much I enjoyed her adorable performance and my heart just swelled with mommy joy. Her class performed four songs interspersed between other classes performing their songs. She also had three different outfit changes. I wish my bad photography captured her adorableness better but I think you can get the idea.
